Obituary of Deacon-Willie-Mack-Deacon Cobb


NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Deacon Willie Mack Cobb, 82, of E. Buena Vista Avenue, entered into rest December 6, 2007 at the VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2007 at Carpentersville Baptist Church with the Rev. Herman Bing officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Deacon Cobb was a native of Aiken County and a member of Carpentersville Baptist Church where he served as chairman of deacons ministry, President of senior choir and on the male chorus. He was a member of the American Legion Post 232 serving as the adjutant for over 30 years. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy L. Evans; three sons, Gregory (Greta) Cobb, Mack Kelvin Cobb and Tony A. (Evelyn) Evans, North Augusta; two sisters, Dorothy Davis and Mary Alice Gibson; aunt, Ruby Bennett; a devoted nephew, Henry (Norma) Davis; a loving Goddaughter, Rosalyn Sapp; sisters-in-law, Helen (Leroy) Stokes, Elizabeth Burton, Shirley (Henry) Jones and Dorothy (Chris) Thomas; brothers-in-law, Willie (Dorothy) Cofer and Jimmy (Janet) Cofer; six grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
