JOHNSON Deacon Mack (Popa J) Johnson, age 64, a resident of Bridgeport for 46 years, passed away Monday, February 19, 2007 at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was born February 5, 1943 in Florence, S.C. to the late Mack Godfrey Johnson Jr. and Lillie Mae Lowery Johnson. He was the husband to the late Mattie Copper Johnson. He is survived by sons, Elder Willie Johnson of New Haven, Christopher Everson Johnson and John Charles Copper of Bridgeport; daughter, Diane Johnson of Bridgeport; brothers, Walter Johnson of South Carolina and Malachai Johnson of Bridgeport; sister-in-law, Vena Johnson of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Kashonna Brown, Charles Copper, Dontrell Johnson and Willie Johnson Jr., all of Bridgeport; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with his parents and wife, a sister, Sarah Mae Johnson, predeceased him. Calling hour will be Tuesday, February 27, 2007 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Calvary Temple Church, 319 Barnum Avenue, Bridgeport. Services will begin at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport. Services entrusted to Lester Gee Funeral Home, 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport.
