SMITH Dawn Marie Smith, age 38, previously of Stratford, wife of Jeff Smith of Greer, S.C., entered eternal rest, Monday, September 18, 2006 in Greer, S.C. Mrs. Smith was born February 22, 1968 in Bridgeport. She was a 1986 graduate of Bunnell High School in Stratford and was a Medical Coder Specialist with the Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina. Survivors in addition to her husband, include her loving mother, Paula Hunton Grohol of Shelton; her father, Peter Grohol of Georgia; her birth father, Albert Whitcomb of Florida; her sister, Kimberly Bassett and her husband, Brian, of Oxford; her grandmother, Beryl Hennessey of Stratford; two aunts, Robin Dennis and her husband, Michael, of Shelton and Nancy Marcello and her husband, Thomas, of Stratford; three nephews and a niece, Benjamin, William, Jonathan and Emily Bassett of Oxford; and many cousins. She also leaves behind her loving and faithful companions, Katie, her Black Labrador and Daisy, a Golden Retriever. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
