WILLIAMS David Williams, age 67, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 6, 2009 at the Ludlowe Center for Rehabilitation and Health in Fairfield. An area resident for more than 31 years, he was born in Duberry, S.C. to the late Alto and Louise (Dewalt) Williams. He was gainfully employed as a machine operator and was also a security guard at Leonard Security before his retirement. An active member of St. Luke's F.W.B Church, he was an usher and member of the Fairfield County Usher's Association, as well as the Men Gospel Choir. He was also a member of the United Brotherhood of the Masonic Order of California. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy (Chandler) Williams; sons, David Jr. (Pamela), Allen (Paula), and Richard Williams, Darryl Rogers, Alfred (Bonnie predeceased), and Joseph (Danita) Chandler; daughter, Dionne (Wilson Jr.) Cash; brother, Howard Williams; sisters, Brenda Williams, Mae Washington, Jeanette Custer; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two grandchildren. A Service of Celebration will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2009 at St. Lukes Freewill Baptist Church, 1365 Stratford Ave., Bridgeport, with Rev. Polite officiating. Friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be held immediately following service in Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley Street. Bridgeport.
