Travis III, David WileyDavid Wiley Travis III of 213 Osprey Cove Loop, Myrtle Beach, SC died March 31, 2012 at 85 years old. He was born in Peekskill, NY the son of the late Adele and David Wiley Travis Jr. He is predeceased by his wife, Adair B. Aschenbrenner and survived by his wife, Alice T. Travis of Myrtle Beach; a son, David N. Travis and wife Mary Ellen of Broken Arrow, OK; a daughter, Deborah Ann Campanaro and husband Paul of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.He was a graduate of Peekskill Military Academy and a member of the New York National Guard prior to serving in WWII as a staff sergeant. Serving in the Army (53rd Field Artillery Battalion) in Europe, he received the WWII Army of Occupation, Good Conduct, Victory European/African Middle Eastern Campaign, Cold War Medal and Marksmanship Medals. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Surfside, SC and a past vestryman and Sr. Warden of the Episcopal Church of the Divine Love in Montrose, New York. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Chesebrough Pond's Inc., a toiletries and cosmetic manufacturer as a sales forecasting supervisor.Interment site prayers will be offered May 7, 2012 at Kensico Cemetery, 213 Lakeview Ave., Valhalla, NY at 10:00 am.
