David Wayne "D.W." DavisHartselleFuneral service for David Wayne "D.W." Davis, 61, of Hartselle will be Friday, July 1, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Forman officiating. Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Davis, who died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at his residence, was born Wednesday, May 10, 1950, in Morgan County to the late Warren Eldridge Davis and Cora Irene Hayes Davis. He was a Baptist. He joined the Army in September of 1967 and did his training at Fort Benning, Ga., then served two tours in Korea. He then served for five years in the Army National Guard. He also served as Commander of the VFW in the Falkville Post. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Davis; one son, David Davis of Hartselle; one daughter, Katrina Davis of Falkville; one sister, Margaret Posey of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and 16 nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Posey, James Posey, Michael Liles, Ryley Smith, Mark Curtis and Jeremy Brewer.
