Obituary of David-Stuart Anderson


ANDERSON David Stuart Anderson, of Wilmington, N.C., passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, after a year long struggle with ALS. David was born Feb. 10, 1947, in Brockton, to the late Earle and Harriette Moore Anderson. David was a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a Merchant Marine License, Naval Commission and a BS in Marine and Electrical Engineering. His love of sailing took him to the Mediterranean with American Exports, and to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute sailing as original crew aboard The Knorr. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Wright Anderson; son, David Newell Anderson (Juliette) of South Korea; daughter, Melissa Gale Romano of Cape Cod; sister, Dawn Earlene Olson of Cottontown, Tenn.; brother, Douglas Ray Anderson (Alicia) of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dylan and Jordan Anderson, Ariana Romano, Darien Santos and a granddaughter to be, Airlie Marina Santos; nieces, Lindsay and Nicole Olson and Stacy and Kristen Anderson; nephew, Eric Anderson; and three very special aunts, Eileen Packard of Kingston, Nancy Allen of Randolph and Twila Armitage of New Wilmington, Pa. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel by Chaplain William Shourds. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to International Seaman's Services, Attn: Chaplain William Shourds, P.O. Box 486, Wilmington, NC 28402.
