David Ray Sharp, 58, of 15 Fox Creek Circle, husband of Brenda Calhoun Sharp, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. Born on Aug. 21, 1947, in Knoxville, Tenn., he was a son of the late John Henry and Margaret Boles Sharp. He was in the chemical business. He was a member of Travelers Rest United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Robin Richard of Simpsonville and Carolyn Rodgers of Fountain Inn; two sisters, Seona Rhines and her husband, David, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Linda Pyle and her husband, Floyd, of Dixie, Ga.; two half brothers, Jonathan Sharp and Paul Sharp of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Joshua, Mark, Amber and Jesse Richards, Charlie and Jimmy Rodgers; and a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Johnny and Mark Sharp, predeceased him. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, and Sunday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Travelers Rest United Methodist Church, 19 South Main St., Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
