David Parker Erickson, 62, Sarasota, died July 15, 2002. He was born March 5, 1940, in Elmira, N.Y., and came to Sarasota 15 years ago from Orlando. He was an artist, a calligrapher and a graphic designer. He was Lutheran. Survivors include his wife, Karen A. Schmidt; daughters Kirsten Schmidt and Holly, both of Sarasota, and Michelle West of Kiowa, Colo.; sons David Schmidt of Sarasota and Gregory Schmidt of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers Arthur E. Parker of Denver and Jay Parker of Orlando; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel.
