DAVID P. ATKINSON SCHERERVILLE, IN David P. Atkinson, age 75, of Schererville, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn; two children: Darci Reed and David C. Atkinson both of Schererville; four grandsons: Joseph and Matthew Reed both of Chesterton; and Troy and Noah Atkinson both of Crown Point; one brother, Daniel (Kathleen) Atkinson of Boulder, CO; two sisters: Mary Lou (late Robert) Phelps of Franklin, IN and Sarah Brugh of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by three children: David Eddie Atkinson, an infant boy, and Tamera Atkinson. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., (one-half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN with Reverend Annette Melton officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family Monday, July 23, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
