David "Benny" Martin, 56, Spruce Pine, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital of a devastating stroke.The visitation was from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Akins Funeral Home prior to the 2 p.m. funeral in the chapel with Bro. Darryl Whitehead officiating. Interment will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery.He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby Underwood; aunts, Ann Raike, Frances Allen, Diane Ables; uncle Wayne Guthrie.He is survived by his mother, Betha Pentagraph; wife, Clarissa Martin; children, Candi Cooper and husband, Chris, Evan Curtis and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Scarlett Winstead, Zadie Cooper, Logan Cooper. Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
