WESTBOROUGH -- David B. Martin, 59, of Bartlett, N.H., formerly of Westborough, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Block Island Medical Center in Block Island, R.I., after being stricken ill on vacation. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Dube) Martin. Born in Leominster, he was the son of the late Aylmer and Norma (Lynch) Martin. He was educated in Leominster schools and graduated from Quinsigamond Community College. During the Vietnam era he served with the U.S. Army and following his service to his country he served with the U.S. National Guard. Mr. Martin worked as a manager in the repair department of Verizon prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed all outdoor sports. He lived in Bartlett since 2001 and previously lived in Westborough. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Martin-Girard and her husband, Peter, of Westborough, and Kelly J. Orne and her husband, Derek, of Paxton; one brother, Gilbert Martin of Lunenburg; one sister, Lynn Gleason of Leominster; five grandchildren, Jacob, Seth and Abigail Girard, and Megan and Matthew Orne. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Martin and Leroy Martin. MARTIN -- On Sept. 9, David B. Martin, 59, of Bartlett, N.H. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, 20 Boston Road, Southboro. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
