MORRISON, David Y. Late of Victoria, BC passed away after a brief battle with cancer on October 5, 2006. Dave was born in Montreal, PQ on October 3, 1936, son of Donald and Irene Morrison. He spent his early years in Montreal remaining a faithful fan of Les Habs. He graduated with Ba.Sc. Chem. Eng. From UBC in 1960. He spent 12 years in the pulp and paper industry and in 1972 he joined the Provincial Polution Control Board in Victoria. He loved his work and the people he worked with. He was able to witness many changes to the pulp and paper industry. He retired in 1997 and spent the last 10 years travelling with wife, Terry, to many parts of the world. The last trip in May was to Israel spending 10 wonderful days in the Holy Land. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels as well as an avid bridge player. He will be missed by his many friends at the Monterey Centre and St. Patrick's Bridge Club. Dave is survived by his wife of 45 years, Therese; children, Donald and Andrew; brother, Dr. Anthony Morrison (Laura); sister-in-law, Mona; Aunt Patti Brant of Denver, Col.; brothers-in-law, Ian, Neil, Alister and Donald McIntyre; sisters-inlaw, Jessie Hawkins (Clarence), Christine Hanlon (Michael) many nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Irene Morrison and his dear brother, Donald Morrison. The family wishes to thank Home Care nurse, Laurel and especially the staff at Hospice. The doctors and the entire staff were truly wonderful. A special thanks to the pastoral team with Fr. Vince and Fr. Marian. You made Dave's journey home a truly peaceful time. Prayers will be said on Thursday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street and Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 13 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2060 Haultain Street with a reception to follow in the church hall.
