Jordan, David L., O.D. Pittsford, NY: Passed away peacefully May 14, 2009, at home, in the loving care of his wife and children. David was born on March 21, 1934, in Lyons, NY, graduating from Palmyra-Macedon High School in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force (1952-1956) and was a proud member of the Kyushu Gypsies Squadron serving in Korea. David received his Bachelor of Science degree of Optometry from Ohio State University and Doctorate degree of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. His career began in 1961 extending until 2008, and included establishing and running some of the area's most successful Optometric practices in Pittsford, Bath and Wayland. Highlights of Dr. Jordan's career include: President-Rochester Optometric Society; President-Pittsford Kiwanis; 1998 NY State Optometrist of the Year; President American Liver Foundation; 1998 Man of the Year-Western NY Chapter of American Liver Foundation; President of the Kyushu Gypsies; Board of Directors-Fairport Little League Baseball. Dr. Jordan was also honored in 1985, with being chosen by invitation of the Chinese Medical Association to help start a new school of Optometry in China. David was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Jordan; parents, David C. and Ruth Jordan; and brother, Russell Jordan. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Joan; daughter, Lynne (Kevin) Howell; son, David (Kimberly) Jordan, Jr.; daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Caiola; grandchildren, Christopher, Meagan and Brenna Howell, David and Bailey Jordan, Olivia, Claudia and Owen Caiola; step-son, Louis Caldarelli, Jr.; step-daughters, Sherilyn (Steve) Lukas and Niki (Ian) Leggett; step daughter-in-law, Eileen Caldarelli; step-grandchildren, Daniel, Steven, Amber, Nicholas, Sebastian, Cameron and AJ Calderelli, Kristen, Shawn and Justin Lukas, Chad, Brittany and Tiffany Leggett, Brandi (Roger) Reis, Shane (Anne) Duttinger; brothers, Howard Jordan and Gerald Jordan; sisters, Juanita Jean Jordan and Judy Whiteman. He will also be missed by aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, June 12 from 5-8 PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, (Egypt Location), 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday, June 13th, 11 a.m. at the All Seasons Chapel, White Haven Memorial Park.
