David Kent, age 44, of Jefferson passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. John Bennett will officiate. The family received friends on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kent was born Oct. 18, 1965, in Hall County to Stanley Kent and Peggy Howard Kent. David was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Kent is survived by his wife, Tina Kent of Jefferson; his sons, Andrew Kent of Commerce, A.J. Kent of Commerce and Kyle Still of Jefferson; mother and stepfather, Peggy and Robert Thompson of Commerce; father and stepmother, Stanley and Susan Kent of Flowery Branch; his brothers, Jason Kent of Jefferson and Stephen Kent of Flowery Branch; stepsister, Elizabeth Kent of Flowery Branch; stepbrother, Matt Kent of Flowery Branch; aunts and uncles, Larry and Pat Conner of Flowery Branch and Charles and Dianne Weaver of Gainesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
