David F. Mansfield IIIof Gibson, Pa.David F. Mansfield III, 63, of Gibson, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 10, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Katherine Carey Mansfield. David is survived by his children, Keith and Christina Mansfield, New Milford, Pa., Donna Mansfield and her husband Page Hardy, Chesterfield, Va., Dale and Pamela Mansfield, Tafton, Pa., and Kevin and Dawn Mansfield, Hickory Grove, Pa.; his five grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Emily Kate, Garrett and Morgan, who affectionately knew him as Pap Pap; and a step-granddaughter, Mendy St. Ours; two sisters, Shirley Mansfield, Corsica, Pa., and Mary and Ben Waldorf, Summerville, Pa.; two brothers, William and Pam Mansfield, Brookville, Pa., and Harry and Gayle Mansfield, Emporium, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. David was a member of the Gibson United Methodist Church, where he was a Trustee and janitor. After retiring with 25 years of service from New York Telephone in 1995, he went on to work as a part-time employee at Hallstead Auto Parts. A dedicated family man, David devoted his entire life to the care and concern of his wife, four children and five grandchildren. He was a firm believer in the value of a full day's work without ever losing sight of the importance of giving his time and energy to his family and friends. As a friend and neighbor who always could be counted on to lend a helping hand, Dave was fondly known as "Honorary Mayor of Gibson".A funeral service will be held at the Gibson United Methodist Church, Gibson, Pa., Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 11 a.m. with pastor Barbara Doan officiating. Interment will be in Gibson Cemetery, Gibson, Pa. The family will receive callers at Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, 5 Susquehanna Avenue, Hallstead, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Gibson United Methodist Church, Gibson, Pa. 18820.
