David-Edward Jordan, son of Alma-Lee and Willie-Edward, father of Sammy, Spartanburg, Sandra, Florida, Melissa, Simpsonville and Mark, died.
BOILING -->David Edward Jordan BOILING SPRINGS, SC- David Edward 'Pop' Jordan died 12/26/2014 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born in Greenville County in Travelers Rest, SC, he was the son of the late Alma Lee Jordan and Willie Edward Jordan. He was the grandson of Ellen Hall Lee and Professor W. Arthur Lee, a singing school teacher credited with writing the fifth verse of 'Amazing Grace.' Mr. Jordan attended Travelers Rest Schools and had a 30-year career as Funeral Director in South Carolina. Surviving are his children, Sammy Jordan, Spartanburg; Sandra Garren, Florida; Melissa Cody, Simpsonville; 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister Peggy Hiatt; nieces Jenny Gray and Cindy Gosnell. He was predeceased by son Mark Jordan and sister Veta Jordan. The family will be at the home of Peggy Hiatt, 370 Blalock Rd, Boiling Springs, SC, where he lived after 10 years in Fernandina Beach, Fla. He was a member of the Springs of Grace Lutheran Church on Hwy 9, Boiling Spring, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be at the church 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015.
