SAN ANTONIO, TX-- Colonel David Butch A. Hadden USAF (Ret), was born in Baltimore, MD, on March 8, 1944, he passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 in San Antonio.In 1966 he graduated from the ROTC program at Clemson University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and in 1979 he was awarded the Master of Sciences in Business Administration/Management from Troy State University. Colonel Hadden entered the Untied States Air Force in 1966 and was assigned as the Bioenvironmental Engineer, 838th Tactical Hospital, Forbes Air Force Base, Kansas, where he served until 1969. Colonel Hadden graduated from the Bioenvironmental Engineering Officer Course in 1968 at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks Air Force Base. Following his assignment in Kansas, he assumed the position of Bioenvironmental Engineer at the 37th and 12th USAF Dispensary, Phu Cat Air Base, Republic of Viet Nam, where he served until 1970. From 1970 to 1972, Colonel Hadden served as the Bioenvironmental Engineer at the USAF Hospital Griffiss, Griffiss Air Force Base, NY. He then became the Chief, environmental Health, USAF Hospital Barksdale, Barksdale Air Force Base, LA, where he served until 1976. Colonel Hadden then took the position of Chief, Bioenvironmental Engineer at the USAF Hospital Bitburg, Bitburg Air Force Base, Germany, where he served until 1979. In 1979, Colonel Hadden became a member of the Bioenvironmental Engineering Staff, Office of the Air Force Surgeon Office, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington D.C. From 1983 to 1985, he served as the Biomedical sciences Branch Inspector, Medical Inspection Directorate, Air Force Inspection and Safety Center (AFISC), Norton Air Force Base, CA. In 1985, Colonel Hadden was selected to be the Command Bioenvironmental Engineer, Office of the Command Surgeon General, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, HI, where he served until 1988. Colonel Hadden was assigned as Command Bioenvironmental Engineer, DCS Medical Services Training, Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, TX, where he served until 1992. Colonel Hadden assumed the position of Chairman, Department of Bioenvironmental Engineering, USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks Air Force Base, TX, in June 1992. Colonel Hadden is a Registered Professional Engineer from the state of California and Certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Industrial Hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. His decorations include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leave Clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal. His hobbies were golf, life master duplicate bridge, loved all sports, especially baseball and the Baltimore Orioles. He was a converted Longhorn fan but the Clemson Tigers was his first love.Paid Funeral Notice
