Obituary of David Adams


LAKELAND -- Mr. David Joseph Adams of Lakeland died of kidney failure Monday (April 21, 2003) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 78.Born in New Haven, Conn., on Sept. 29, 1924, he came to Lakeland from Augusta, Maine, in 1983. He was an insurance adjuster and investigator for Farm Family Mutual Insurance in Albany, N.Y. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, past master of the Masonic Lodge in Augusta, Maine, and past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran in World War II and the Korean War, serving as a captain. He was a member of Crystal Lake United Methodist Church in Lakeland and Penney Memorial United Baptist Church in Augusta, where he served as a deacon.Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Marjorie Adams. He is survived by his wife, Harriet K. Adams; daughters, Bonnie Jo Adams Randall, Brewer, Maine, Brenda Adams Yeaton, Augusta, Marcia Gail Adams, Palm City; son, Donald Jay Adams, Fairfield, Maine; stepson, Jerry K. Foster, Lakeland; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Citrus Woods Clubhouse, 1610 Reynolds Road, Lakeland.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, 30368. Heath Funeral Chapel.
