ST. ALBANS - Daniel Webster Henderson, 76, died Jan. 19, 2011, at a Dexter health care facility. He has taken his journey to heaven. Daniel was born Feb. 12, 1934, in St. Albans, the youngest son of Byron and Josephine (West) Henderson Sr. Dan was a hard working self employed woodsman and farmer all of his life. He lived in St. Albans for the past 43 years, where he helped raise five children and two grandchildren. He was a simple man and asked for little in life. There needed to be a jar of peanut butter on the table and a tree to cut. He was a lifelong hunter and excellent marksman. Dan was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanie; and a sister, Leela. He is survived by a son, Scott Henderson and partner, Sharon Patterson, of Corinna; a daughter, Sally and husband, Jerry Sneed, of St. Albans; a brother, Byron Henderson of Corinna; two sisters, Marie McWilliams of New Kensington, Pa., and Anna Collins of Denver; three grandchildren, Erica Henderson, Jerry D. Sneed and Casey Lawrence; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Sierra Sneed; as well as nieces and nephews, and many friends. His very good friend was Gerald Robertson, with whom he had tea and doughnuts almost every morning. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport.
