SUPLEE, Sgt. 1st Class Daniel A., 39, passed awayAugust 3, 2006, at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Sgt. 1st Class Suplee was on active duty as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard's 53rd Brigade/153rd Calvary in Afghanistan, performing convoy escort duty in the evacuation of wounded soldiers, when he was wounded. He also worked for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency for the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C., and the Tampa area. He is survived by his loving wife, Bernadine; son, Benjamin Daniel; daughters, Jennifer Renee, Gloria (Adam) Carbaugh, Angela (David) Diaz and Christal Candia; grandchildren, Michael, Alicia, Lauren, Xavier and Amelia to whom he was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Dahl Suplee; sisters, Victoria (Barry) Haefele and their son, Matt Crane; Christianne (Daniel) Dalton and their children, Mary, John and Michael; Mary Cotton and daughter, Olivia; brothers, Andrew (Mary) Suplee and their daughters Emily, Rebecca and Mary Elizabeth; Frederic (Evelyn) Suplee and their daughters Amanda, Ashley and Amber; Paul (Julie) Suplee and their children Tyler, Hannah, Gabrielle, and Ethan. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Iris Berenhaus; and father-in-law, Robert; brother-in-law, Benny E. (Sarah) Vincent and their son, Xavier; sister-in-law, Brenda Sessa and daughters Jasmine, Rachael and Angelina. Daniel graduated in the first graduating class of Broadneck High School, Arnold, Md., in June 1984. He was a man of many interests and talents, including camping, fishing, sailing, playing guitars, dancing, horseback riding, carpentry, model building, bicycle riding, video games with his children, billiards, card playing and gem faceting. He spent much of his youth involved in Revolutionary War re-enactment groups, including Ferguson's Company and Dorsey's Artillery. He spent 19 years in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army National Guard, he was a devoted and dedicated soldier to his country. He met the love of his life, Bernadine, in 1995 and over the years their love grew to the point of being best friends and soul mates. They married April 21, 2001, at Camp Freddert, Md., and became inseparable. Full military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
