Daniel Paul Fleming, 66, of Harriman, formerly of Oak Ridge, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, with his loving family by his side.He was the beloved husband of Angela Pisacane Fleming. He was born in Hartford, Conn., on July 22, 1947, son of the late Daniel J. and Alice Cullen Fleming. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era and worked as an environmental scientist for many years. In North Haven, Conn., he served as a fire commissioner, member of the American Legion Murray Reynolds Post 76, and member of the Inland/Wetland Committee. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus/Father McRedmond Council and a former parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge. He loved the great outdoors, Bluegrass music and traveling, but most of all, enjoyed his family and friends.He was the loving father of Daniel J. Fleming II and stepfather of Jennifer Bibby-Gerth (Jonathan) and Michael Bibby; grandfather of Dominic Gerth; brother of Helen Fleming, Patricia Fryer (Jack), Deidre Fleming, Alicia Fleming Sato (Morihiko) and Christine Lewis (Michael). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian burial was in his hometown, North Haven, on Saturday, Jan. 18. A memorial Mass will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Harriman, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, followed by a celebration of life gathering at the Bradbury Community Center, 195 Speers Road, Kingston.
