DANIEL M. WITTING "BUD" Daniel Michael Witting "Bud" passed away peacefully on June 11, 2014 at the University of Chicago Hospital. He was surrounded by his family and a tremendous amount of love from his parents: Michael and Jan Witting; sisters: Carrie (Andrew) Lewis, Crissy (Eric) Simmons, and Melissa Witting (Jason Talley). Dan is also survived by his grandfather, Michael Ernest Witting; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dan was born in Munster, IN on April 1, 1983. He graduated from Munster High School in 2001 and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, receiving the Operation Iraqi Freedom medal. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces: Olivia Witting and Ella Simmons; and nephew, Charlie Lewis. Dan loved spending his time helping others, landscaping, fishing, and building. He was a naturally gifted athlete and was passionate about playing baseball and frisbee golf. Dan's bravery and spirit will continue to live in his family's hearts forever. A wake will be held honoring Dan at Burns-Kish Funeral Home (8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321) Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM (Central Time), with a funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM.
