DANIEL MICHAEL CURTIS, 84Sales Clerk LAKE WALES - Daniel "Dan" Curtis, 84, of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 due to heart failure at Dove Health Care in Lake Wales. Born July 23, 1923 in Cambridge, MA; he came to Florida 53 years ago and settled in Lake Wales 48 years ago. He was a retired sales clerk for Friedlander's Department Store and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was a veteran serving both European and Asian Theatres during World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attained his 4th Degree; he enjoyed racing pigeons and fantails, woodworking and camping with his family. Daniel was preceded by his first wife, Barbara Curtis. Survivors include his wife, Lois Curtis of Lake Wales; daughters, Paula Morley of Newnan, GA, Barbara Chandley of Lake Wales, Margaret Fleckenstein of Dickson, TN, Patricia Starr of Winter Haven, Elizabeth Collins of Babson Park, Ann Story of Lake Wales and Jeanie Takacs of Winter Haven; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
