Obituary of Daniel-Leonard Hanlon

Daniel Leonard Hanlon of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born on May 12, 1961, in Omaha, Neb. to Leonard and Carolina Hanlon. Danny worked for years with the City of Niceville and most recently with Gulf Coast Enterprises.Danny participated in the Special Olympics many times and against the odds, he graduated from Niceville High School in 1980. Danny believed in kindness to all and if he could say it himself he would ask that all people treat each other as they themselves wish to be treated.He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by three sisters, Diana Armbruster and life partner Rex Brannon, Joanna Tousignant and husband Patrick, and Carolyn Weaver and husband Abed Irahman Alkhawaldeh. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice.You may go online to offer condolences to the family and sign the guestbook at www.heritagegardensfuneralhome.com.
