Daniel Eugene Mahoney, 76, of Sun City West, AZ, born in Hornell, NY on October 8, 1932 to Bertha Potts and Emmett Daniel Mahoney, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on February 3, 2009. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Spartan Aeronautical Institute in Tulsa, OK. Daniel worked 38 years for United Airlines as an aircraft mechanic. He was active in his children's activities not limited to Little League, football, hockey, and Weblos. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Sheila Rose Egnor; his daughter, Kathleen (Jim) Mangers; sons, Daniel (Daniela) Mahoney and Timothy (J. Lynn) Mahoney; daughter, Margaret Mahoney-Palios; 14 grandchildren, as well as three great-grandchildren whom he thoroughly adored. He also is survived by his sister, Frances Mahoney Bianchi. Daniel also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. with funeral service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Phoenix Memorial Park &amp; Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
