Deacon Dan Williams MONTICELLO - Deacon Dan Williams, 91, a retired farmer, died Saturday, March 25, 2006. The service will be at 2 p.m. EST Saturday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 7:30 p.m. EST Friday at Tillman Funeral Home (850-997-5553).A native and lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Mr. Williams was a retired self-employed farmer. He also worked in road construction for White Construction Co. An ordained deacon at Pleasant Grove, he was a member of Pleasant Grove, New Bethel, Hickory Hill and New Zion Pallbearer Lodges. Among those honoring his legacy and treasuring his love and guidance are two sons, Lynell Williams (and Deloris) and Ozell Williams (and Carmen), both of Miami; four daughters, Alfredia W. Thompson and Eloney W. Parker, both of Monticello, Terry Jean Williams of Apopka and Marjorie Harrell (and Dozier) of St. Petersburg; a brother, Lewis Williams of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters, Lenora Williams of Vero Beach and Francis Roman of Rochester; a daughter-in-law, Mary Williams of Miami; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Smith Williams, and his sons, Daniel "Danny" Smith and Joe Lee Williams.
