Dale R. Burke 1947 - 2013 BRIMFIELD - Dale R. Burke, 66, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Born in Springfield to the late Kenneth and Gwendolyn (Corvin) Burke, he was a resident of Brimfield and had previously lived in Wilbraham. Dale worked as a tool maker for many local companies and as a businessman, having operated the former Union Transit Company of Springfield and Wilbraham. In addition to spending time with his family, his eye for natural beauty prompted many road trips to the Smokey Mountains, the White Mountains, Acadia National Park, Quabbin Reservoir and Squam Lake. An eccentric with ideals, Dale was known as a perfectionist with mechanical design, a car enthusiast, and a dreamer. Dale leaves his beloved son, Todd Burke and his wife Deborah, two granddaughters; Amanda and Marissa Burke and one great granddaughter Mackenzie Stawas, all of Wilbraham. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
