- Dale Davis, 75, of Oak Hill, owner/operator of Davis Sea Shells in Oak Hill for 18 years, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at his home. Mr. Davis, an Army veteran, was born in Tulsa, OK and moved to Oak Hill in 1966 from his birthplace. He enjoyed fishing, socializing, golfing, hunting, yard sales and watching football. Survivors include two sons, Rusty (Betsy) Davis of New Smyrna Beach and Dean (Becky) Davis of Oak Hill; two daughters, Donna (Ed) Hitchner of Edgewater and Diana White of Oak Hill; one brother, Bob (Carol) Davis of Tulsa; two sisters, Betty (Bob) Skelton of Dallas, TX and Judy (Gordon) Godfrey of Tulsa; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and his very good friend, Viola Ragin of Oak Hill. Funeral service will be 2PM Monday, December 6, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Oak Hill, 192 E. Halifax Ave., with Mr. Don Heath of Tulsa and Rev. Emerson Bolton, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors being rendered by American Legion Post #17, New Smyrna Beach. Visitation will be from 5PM until 7PM Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Dudley Edgewater Chapel.
