Dorothy Marie Peterson, age 57, of DeLand, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 30, 2011. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011; 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 509 East Pennsylvania Avenue, DeLand. Dorothy was born and raised here in DeLand, one of George and Marieanna Myles four children. She was an independent, prideful woman of many talents and interest who enjoyed swimming, bingo, bowling, gardening, cooking for her family, kitting, and doing crafts. In her simple down to earth presence, her unfailing artistic talents always shown through. She had a heart of gold, deep with love for her daughters, grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Heidi (Rick) Harvert, Holly Peterson, Heather Pace and Erica (John O'Donnell) Richards; three siblings: Mary Ann (Lenton) Fidler, Alfred (Heather) Myles, and George Myles; her Aunt who is more like a sister: Ingrid DeSellems; four grandchildren: Devin, Hopelynn, Austin and Frieda; an uncle Alfred Muller, Jr.; and many life long loving friends.
