Johnson, Dorothy E. EAST GREENBUSH Dorothy E. (McGowan) Johnson, 85, of East Greenbush, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Troy, she had been a resident of the Capital Region for many years. Dorothy was a waitress for various restaurants in the Capital Region prior to her retiring several years ago. She was a member of Melvin Roads American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Carrie (Bentz) McGowan; her husband, LeRoy F. Johnson Sr.; and a grandson, David. Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Zdunczyk of E. Schodack, Carolyn McCarthy of East Greenbush and Gail (Sam) Parker of Colonie, three sons, James (Myra) LeRoy Johnson, Robert (Debbie) Johnson of East Greenbush and LeRoy F. (Donna) Johnson Jr. of Brainard. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jackie, Mark, Russell, Kristy, Sara, Jenny, Julie, Heidi, Pattie, Cherie, Steven, Tina, Candie, and Earl; and several great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral, Friday 10:00 a.m. from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery Colonie, N.Y. The family has requested that those who wish to remember Dorothy, make contributions to the Salvation Army, 452 Clinton Avenue, Albany, NY 12206, in her memory.
