DORIS R. STEWART, 88 WINTER HAVEN- Mrs. Doris R. Stewart passed away peacefully at home on March 15 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 14, 1924 in Tallahassee, Florida and was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Gabe W. Stewart, Jr. She was the very best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother anyone could want. She loved being a stay at home mom and wife. She taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, was both a Cub Scout leader and Girl Scout leader, and worked as a pink lady for years at Winter Haven Hospital. Doris was an avid gardener and she an Gabe loved to travel and spend time at their fish camp on the Apalachicola River. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. She is survived by her son, Gabe Stewart, III, (Sally) of Umatilla, FL; daughter, Lynne Maxwell (John) of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Gabe Stewart, IV, of Panama City, FL, Corey Hassman of Charlotte, NC, Jill Maxwell of Riverview, FL, Kim Bass of Winter Haven, Fl; and 7 great grandchildren, Colburn, Lachlan, Sadie, Sarah, Lee, Lily and Finn. A private memorial service will be held in the near future at Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hope Presbyterian Church Fellowship committee.
