Donna Dove Anderson died in Hawthorne, New York on November 3, 2001. She was born June 21, 1907 in Tuscarora, Nevada, the daughter of Thomas Wellington Dove and Elsbeth Zweifel Dove. Her father was a well known mining engineer in Tuscarora and when the mines played out she moved with her family to Elko in 1917. She never forgot Tuscarora and could recall many happy days spent as a child tramping over the hills, visiting mines and fishing and hunting with her father. In Elko, she was treasurer of her class and an honor student at Elko High School. While at the University of Nevada she played in the band and in a small group with her sister, Betty known as the Dove sisters. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. After graduating from the University of Nevada, she taught school in Carlin, Fernley and Elko. She was married to Theodore William Anderson in Reno in 1936. She moved to California in 1940 and taught school in Piedmont and Oakland, California. She attended graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley. Her last years were spent with and near her son, Theodore Anderson in New York. She is survived by her son, Theodore Wellington Anderson of Chappaqua, New York, grandson, Thomas Wellington Anderson of Tarrytown, New York, granddaughter, Hilary Dove Anderson Raupp of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, geat-grandson, Henry Wellington Anderson and niece Elise St. Ives of Grass Valley, California. Services at the Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, Ossining on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place in Elko, NV. WATERBURY & KELLY FUNERAL HOME 48 So.
