Donald Eugene Davis, age 90, of Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at ECM Hospital.Visitation will be begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Keith Hawk officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery.Mr. Davis was a member of Whitehead Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta S. Davis, and a brother, Jimmy Ray Davis.He is survived by a son, Jerry Davis and wife, Marva, Rogersville; grandchildren, Wade Davis and wife, Sonia, and Cathy Newton and husband, Richie, all of Rogersville; great-grandson, Dylan Davis; great-granddaughters, Daphne Newton, Audra Davis and Haley Newton; sister, Fay Sokolowski, Florence; brother, Tonis Davis and wife, Juanita, Florence.Pallbearers will be Jimmy Roberson, Donnie Mason, Sam Camp, Wade Davis, Dylan Davis and Richie Newton.The family offers special thanks to Ivan Trousdale and Ada Butler.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Whitehead Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Teresa Garner, 7601 County Road 76, Rogersville, AL 35652.Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
