Obituary of Donald Davis


Donald Lee Davis, 67, of 101 Pheasant Ridge Drive, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late Drayton Wesley and Ruby Mae Day Davis. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Marine Medical Corps., was retired from Union Carbide/Amoco & Haskell Scott Funeral Services, worked part-time as site coordinator at Greenville Technical College, and was a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and the Roundtable Sunday School Class.Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Andrews Davis, of the home; four children, Donna Fish, and her husband, James, and Jimmy Davis, and his wife, Lou Ellen, all of Greenville, and Mary Ann Davis, and Kathy Goddard, and her husband, Chuck, all of Atlanta; and four grandchildren, Wesley Davis, Caroline Goddard, Chad Goddard and Natalie Fish.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.The family will be at the home.Memorials may be made to the Capital Fund at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1988, Greenville, SC 29602.The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
