U.S. NavyLAKELAND -- Mr. Donald Arthur Davis, Jr. of Lakeland died of respiratory failure Thursday (April 8, 2004) at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 66.Born April 17, 1937, in Tampa, he came here from Atlanta in 1976. He was a chief petty officer and air traffic controller for the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Betty R. Davis. He is survived by his sons, Michael Davis, Mark Davis and Don Davis, all of Lakeland, and two grandchildren.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
