David G. Walls, 57, of Phenix City, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Ga.Funeral services will be Monday, July 24, 2006, at 5 p.m. EST at Vance Memorial Chapel, 3738 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, with the Rev. Barry Danner officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Washington Baptist Church Cemetery, Ware Place, S.C.. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 4 to 5 p.m.Mr. Walls was born Oct. 14, 1948, in Pelzer, S.C., son of the late Edward L. Walls and the late Clara Mae Wright Walls Padgett. He was an environmental engineer at Columbus Foundries. He attended First Assembly of God Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Slay Walls of Phenix City; two sons, David L. Walls and wife, Janie, of Easley, S.C., Jason Walls and fiancee, Katie Overman, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Debra Powell and husband, Tom, of Liberty, S.C.; stepson, Keith Edward Capps of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandchildren, Audrianna and Cheyenne Walls; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. -- Courtesy of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, S.C.
