-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Martin, Dr. David A.Hilton Head, SC: Dr. David A. Martin, of Hilton Head, SC, died suddenly on November 25, 2014 at age 77. He leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Heather Martin of Hilton Head, South Carolina and daughter, Kristen Martin of Miami Beach, Florida.He worked at SUNY Geneseo for 34 years as a Professor of Economics, Head of Jones School of Business, and Chairperson Department of Business and Economics. He received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1990 following many other honors relating to lectureships in Economics. During his tenure at SUNY Geneseo, he received grants in the field of Humanities and Education. He wrote and published ten books devoted to economics including Lively Conversations with Dead Economists-a book dealing with historical figures in the history and evolution of economics. In addition to books, Dr. Martin wrote scores of articles for professional journals. While attending Syracuse University he was honored with the Fulbright-Hays scholarship. After retiring, the family moved to Florida and Dr. Martin taught as an adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida and Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. The final retirement brought a move to Hilton Head in South Carolina. He continued his interest in tennis and golf as well as his passion for gardening.
