PublixFORT MEADE -- Mrs. Darlene Loftin Johnson of Fort Meade died of heart failure Aug. 5, 2004, in Dallas. She was 53.She was born in Fort Meade on Jan. 20, 1951. She was an administrative assistant for Publix. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Fort Meade.Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughters, Patrice Hawkins, Miami, Phoebe Johnson, Winter Haven; son, Melvin Colvin, Fort Meade; sisters, Barbara Fisher, Miami, Yvonne Washington, Marva Grahm, Natasha Brown, Minnie Simmons, all of Fort Meade, Gwendolyn Sneed, North Carolina; brothers, Alvin Harvey Sr., Fort Meade, Ulysses Simmons, Plant City; four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul AME Church in Fort Meade.
