D. Jean Wilson was peacefully taken home by our heavenly father on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 3:10 p.m. She was born January 9, 1933. Because of her parents' pastoral work and the time they spent working on the family farm, Jean enjoyed caring for her younger sisters, Faye and Sue. On August 15, 1951, Jean married Marion Eugene Wilson of Grovespring, Mo., in Mountain Home, Ark. Marion and Jean had two sons, Rick and Randy. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Reverend George and Edith (Needy) Deckard of Grovespring, Mo. Her grandson Almus also preceded her in death. Her husband Marion Wilson of Springfield, Mo.; two sons, Rick Wilson of Springfield and Randy "Grady" Wilson and wife, Donna, of Strafford, Mo., survive her. Grandchildren include Erin Midyett and her husband, Tim, of Aravana, Colo., Ericka Wilson of Springfield, Mo., Georgia Cable and husband, Chris, of Fair Grove, Mo., and Ashley Wilson of Columbia, Mo. Great-grandchildren are Wilson Oliver and Harper Stanley Midyett. She also has two sisters, Faye Atkisson and Sue Robertson and her husband, Truell, of Grovespring, Mo.; and one aunt, Irene, of St. Louis, Mo. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff on the west wing of Manor Care facility and Hospice staff members Sharon Farley and Tabitha Soundsleeper for their loving care. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 2, 2007, in Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Access Hospice, 1315 E. Montclair, Springfield, MO 65804. Marion and Jean recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Their years of marriage were special to both of them and fond memories will remain of their happiness and their love for their sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
