Cynthia Joshua Peters - SAVANNAH - Memorial Service for Cynthia Joshua Peters, 43, of Savannah, GA, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Thomas AME Church, 3215 Burroughs St., Rev. Nathaniel Hargrove pastor officiating. Our beloved Cynthia was born to Eugene and Alice L. Joshua on October 5, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the only sister to three brothers. Her oldest brother, Gregory, preceded her in death. During her early years, she attended the Greater Bible Way Temple where she as baptized under the leadership of Bishop Huie L. Rogers. Cynthia attended the public schools of Brooklyn, NY, graduating from John Dewey High School. She furthered her education and earned her Bachelor's degree from the City University of New York at City College. Cynthia was employed by the Wall Street Journal. After relocating to Savannah, she worked at the Savannah Morning News. Her most recent employment was with the Chatham County Board of Education until her health began to fail. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, James Peters, children, Jazmyne and Justin, loving parents Eugene and Alice L. Joshua, three stepdaughters, Elizabeth D. Porter, Elaine R. Peters and Carmen A. Peters, one step granddaughter Victoria Porter, two brothers, Reginald and Tyvon. Great Aunt Nettie Hargrove. Uncle Donald (Carol) Gold. Aunts Delores Patterson, Leah (Alfrado) Bracy, Joan White, Catherine Sayers , Renee Gold and Venetta Joshua.
