Cornelia Mae Carr 1934-2013 Geary has lost a long time resident- Cornelia M Carr. It is with great sadness that after a hard fight with cancer she passed away at Oromocto Public Hospital with Family by her side on December 14 2013. Born January 28, 1934 on a cold night of 40 below in Chatham, NB, where she lived for two years before moving to Hamton Corner, NB, then Birdton, NB, followed by St. Stephen, NB Swan Creek, NB, Oromocto West, NB, and settled in Geary, NB in 1952. She was a graduate of Oromocto Rural High School. She worked at Zellers before marriage. After marriage to Hansel she became a very dedicated stay at home mom during which her creative abilities were shown in her seamtress work for family and others. In later years she worked at CFBG as a seamstress at Camp Argonaut, Base Forestry, and D9. She was a member of the Geary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member, helper with VBS, an Awana leader, secretary for Sparks, and member of Women's Missionary Society and lately has been known as the treat Grammy making treats for 25 to 30 kids every week at church. She helped with Geary Lionettes, was a Member of Geary Women's Institute since 1954, and a Member of Geary Medical Relief Committee. She was also a volunteer at the Geary Elementary School working in the breakfast program and hot lunch program for over 50 years. Survived by four daughters, Bertha Grasse (Danny) Geary, NB, Edna Smith (Ken) French Lake, NB, Catherine"Cathy" McCann (Danny) Three Tree Creek, NB, Candace"Candy" Hank (Danny) Ponoka, AB and six sons, Keith Carr (Mavis) Rusagonis, NB, Wallace Carr (Sharon) Geary, NB, Gary Carr (Kitca) Sackville, NS, Harvey Carr (Katrine) Haneytown, NB, Timothy"Tim" Carr (Lisa) Sydney, NS, Samuel "Sam" Carr (Nancy) New Maryland, NB. Survived by brother Frederick Williams (Valerie), Haneytown, NB, sister Margaret Howland, Oromocto West, NB, and sister-in-laws Augusta Cochrane, Fredericton, Christina Scott (Ernest) Nashwaak, NB, Shirley Crouse, Geary, NB, Kathleen Smith, Waterville, NB, Laurina (Renie), Harper Sussex, NB, and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by a large number of grandchildren- Kevin Grasse (Iona), John Grasse (Katherine), Danielle Nickerson (Dave), Trudy Whittaker (Brian), Shelley MacPhee (Joey), Jonathan Smith (Erin), Nicholas McCann (Nicole), Greg McCann (Mary), Kendall McCann, Ryan McCann (Paige), Miranda Carr, Duska Frink (Scott), Rachelle McKee, (Tristan), Danisha Fox (Cory), Mitchell Carr, Dwight Carr (Michelle) Garett Carr (Amy); Jennifer Carr, Nakita Carr, Ryan Seelye, Braden Seelye, Kayla Foss, Vanessa Foss, Jessica Carr (Josh), Marissa Carr, Spencer Carr, Joe English, Quinton Paul-O'Donnell and great grandchildren Zachary, Jarret, Cameron, Masen and Savannah Grasse; Aaron and Victoria Forbes; Chloe, Liam and Jalyn MacPhee, John McCann, Londyn Frink; Sylar Carr-Mead, Jasmin Seelye, and Declan Smith. She was predeceased by husband, Hansel Carr, mother and father Annie and Lee Williams, a son, Beverly Allan Carr, a granddaughter, Heather Lorraine Smith, and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Visitation will be held at the Geary Baptist Church on Monday, December 16th, 2013 from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Geary Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Greg Sparkes officiating, assisted by Pastor Steve Ranni. Interment will follow in the Preston Carr Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Geary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Cornelia's name may be made to the Geary, French Lake, Waterville Cemetery Fund, Geary Baptist Church, IWK or to a charity of the donor's choice.
