August 29, 2004 Cordelia Elizabeth Carter (Roundtree Kennedy), 96, formerly of Auburn, died August 29 in Rochester Community Hospital. She was a member of The Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church in Auburn. Surviving: one son, David S. Carter, of the Bronx, New York; three daughters, Marilyn Frender, New York City, Anita Mitchell and Dorothy Berryhill and her husband, Jerry, all of Rochester; two daughters-in-law, Luceda and Brenda; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; one nephew, James Mebane. Mrs. Carter was predeceased by her husband, Reginald, in 1983 and by a son, Richard, this year. Services: 12 noon, Saturday in The Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church at the corner of Washington and Wall Streets, Auburn. Viewing will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday prior to the service in The Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church. Burial will be in The Fort Hill Cemetery on Saturday. Funeral arrangements are by the Cheche Funeral Home.
