Cora Patricia Anderson (nee Wingrove) January 17, 1927 February 11, 2011 Pat passed away peacefully at the Watrous Manitou Lodge with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph in 2005, her sister Beatrice and brothers Harry and Norman; and is survived by her sister Elsie (Russ) Earl; children Garth (Jean); Karen; Gail (Monty) Rolston; Sandra (Phill) Banks, Brian (Connie); Barry (Frances) and Debi (Barry) Lamb; grandchildren Garth Jr.; Tara (Chris) Byrne and Steve Rolston; Treva Philliben; Melissa (Dustin) Lamb-Larson; Leah, Erin and Glendon Anderson. Pat was born on the farm in Zelma and graduated from Normal School (teachers college) in 1946 in Saskatoon. She started out teaching grades 1-12 in a oneroom schoolhouse in Lyndhurst riding back and forth on her horse before marrying Ralph in 1948 where they lived on the farm for 6 years. Then they moved to Young and onward to Watrous in 1956. Pat was quite influenced to play ball as a young girl by her sister Else who is a Hall of Fame professional. Curling and golfing were also activities that made her happy with her friends especially the Voysey's. Always active in the Watrous community, she pioneered one of the first kindergartens in Watrous in 1958 in her own home. She supported many organizations, such as the Rebecca Lodge, was a board member of the Watrous Senior Housing committee, as well as Mandal house. She liked public speaking and had a commanding presence. In her later years she thoroughly enjoyed being the librarian at Wheatland until her retirement in 1992. Pat had a real green thumb and loved to garden and was very proud of her gladiolus, dahlia's and roses including their huge vegetable garden. Ralph and Pat often took Sunday drives checking out the crops, watching the snow geese, and taking time to pick Saskatoon berries, which always ended up in delicious tarts and pies. Also artistic she had a ceramic studio on 1st Ave. behind their home for many years. Being an avid card player many days were spent around the family table or the Drop In Centre trying to get the best crib hand possible or giving you 26 in Hearts. Pat was quick minded and loved to tease or give you that twinkling eye. Luckily Ralph and Pat spent many of their winters in Indio, California joining family and friends until moving to the Legion Manor in Saskatoon in 2000. Pat was residing at Caleb Manor in Saskatoon from 2005 until her welcomed return to Watrous and Manitou lodge last September. Memorial will be Saturday March 26th at 2 p.m. at the Civic Centre where lunch will follow after the Interment at the Watrous Cemetery.
