Obituary of Cora-James-Brock Carter

Cora James Brock Carter, 85, of 7 Shubuta Court, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002. Widow of Lewis Thurman Carter, she was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Towe James. Mrs. Carter, a retiree of Southern Weaving, was a homemaker and was a Baptist. Surviving are sons, Robert Eugene Brock and Thomas Jackson Brock, both of Greenville; a sister, Ellender Carter, of Six Mile; a brother, Roy James, of Greenville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Carter was predeceased by two sisters, Carrie J. Dean and Nina J. Bailey; and three brothers, Ivan James, Frank James and Jessie James. Visitation will be from 11 to 11:50 a.m. Friday, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will follow at noon, at the funeral home, with burial at Graceland Cemetery, West.
