High Shoals - Cora Elizabeth Taylor, 87, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Parion Lumpkin and Edna Jackson Thomas. She was a member of High Shoals Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Gunnels, six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Gina Taylor, of Watkinsville; brother, Ralph Thomas, of Greenwood, S.C.; grandchildren, Julie Burris, Kevin Burris, Carter Gunnels, Jeff Gunnels; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Gunnels. Graveside services will be held 10:30AM, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Thomas Family Cemetery, High Shoals. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 PM at Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors. Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
