Constance-Mary Casey, born in 1917, spouse of Orland McNamara, daughter of Patrick and Lee, mother of Bill, Jim, Nancy and Patsy, died on March 17, 2003.
(Casey) Peacefully, Monday, March 17, 2003. Connie Casey, age 86, beloved wife of the late Orland McNamara of Eganville. Dearest sister of Eileen (Art) Young and the late Margaret Burke. Cherished mother of Bill (Jan), Jim (Rosemary), Nancy (Rodney Tee) and Patsy (John Hoy). Much loved Nana to Tara, Michael, Rebecca, Sophie, Thomas and Kathleen. Connie was born in Twin Elm on March 1st, 1917, the daughter of the late Patrick and Lee Casey. Connie trained as a teacher at the Ottawa Normal School in 1934-35 and taught until 1979 for the Ottawa and Lachine (Quebec) Catholic School Boards where she touched the lives of many with her strength of character, her keen sense of humour and her love of music. She enjoyed a country retirement in Eganville, Ontario where she pursued her interests in creative writing of poetry and prose; her personal works serve as wonderful treasures for her family. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3000 Woodroffe Avenue (south of Fallowfield), Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral Saturday to St. Patrick's Church, Fallowfield for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment St. James Cemetery, Eganville in the spring. Many thanks to the St. James Parish Catholic Women's League in Eganville for their ongoing prayers and support these past few years. Special thanks to the staff of Longfield's Manor for their care and compassion which made our journey peaceful. donations to the Catholic Education Fund of Ottawa-Carleton appreciated.
