Colette Claudette Lebel Cyr September 11, 1942-December 31, 2012 Preston - Colette Cyr, 70, of Wilderness Acres, Preston, died Monday evening at the William W. Backus Hospital. She was born on September 11, 1942 in Green River, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Martin) Lebel. On August 20, 1962 she was married to Roger Cyr in New Brunswick, Canada. He predeceased her on January 16, 2003. She was a hairdresser who owned and operated the former Colette's Personal World of Curls from her homes in Preston. She loved to travel and visit with her family and friends. She leaves her son, Gaston and wife, Holly Cyr of Preston and their sons, Noah and Nathan; her son, Daniel and wife, Tori Cyr of Jewett City and their sons, Joshua and Lucas; and her daughter, Brigitte Cyr or Norwich, and her children Taylor and Nicolas. She leaves her brother Edwin Lebel of Lisbon, and siblings living in Canada, Kenneth Lebel, Carmel Lebel, Pauline Cyr, and Denise Martin. She was predeceased by siblings, Patricia Landry, Gerald Lebel, Roger Lebel, Fernand Lebel, and Andre Lebel. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 PM Friday evening at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday At 10:30 AM at St. Peter and Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth Street, Norwich meeting directly at church. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
