AlcomaLAKE WALES -- Mr. Clifford H. "Red" Johnson of Lake Wales died of heart failure Tuesday (Oct. 18, 2005) at Bartow Center. He was 88.Born in Georgiana County, Ala., on March 25, 1917, he was a longtime resident of Lake Wales. He was a retired foreman for Alcoma citrus. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was of the Church of God faith.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys P. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pitts Johnson; daughters, Virginia Bullard, Lake Wales, Beverly A. Diles, Hephizibah, Ga.; sons, Clifford Greg Johnson, Okeechobee, Gary D. Johnson, Babson Park, Wayne Johnson, James M. Johnson, Cliff Johnson, all of Lake Wales; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
