Claude Williams, 92, of Athens and formerly of Madison County and of Landis, N.C., died Tuesday, February 7, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sisters, Reba Beatenbaugh, of Staham, and Thelma (Tom) Lang, of Athens, and several nieces and nephews.He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church of Athens, and had retired from the U.S. Navy after over 20 years of service. He was a Shriner and a Mason.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 10, in the Bridges Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Bob Bohler officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour immediately prior to the service. Entombment will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, at Westlawn Memorial Park, China Grove, N.C., with the Rev. Tom Lang officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Masonic Home of Georgia, P.O. Box 4665, 811 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31028; the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 950 W.
